He is a dacoit-turned-social crusader. Siddhu has put his past behind and now looks forward to reform society in whatever little way he could. He is a mentor to aspiring actors from small towns. Gentle and yet strong, reasonable and yet ferocious, Siddhu has no qualms about picking up the weapon he once renounced to defend the helpless.

Darshan Jariwala as Gaekwad

He personifies the worst of what a politician can be. Gaekwad is a ruthless man who will manipulate the system, threaten witnesses, subvert the judicial process, just to get his son off the hook.

Synopsis

Ashfaque (Ajay Devgan) is a small town boy aspiring to be a film star in the Hindi film industry. He joins a street theatre group run by a reformed dacoit Siddhu (Pankaj Kapur) who uses street theatre as a medium to bring about an awakening in the masses.

The Big Break

Ashfaque struggles to give a creative vent to the actor in him in order to realize his dreams. Ashfaque's determined struggle pays off and he gets a break in films.


Sameer Khan, the Superstar

He gets a new screen name - Sameer Khan. With the passage of time, the roles start becoming better and he moves up the success ladder in a very short time.

Fame and Adulation

Soon, Ashfaque becomes Sameer Khan the superstar - one who can enact any role with finesse, get under the skin of any and every character with ease and walk away with audience applause.


Alienation

Sadly, amidst all adulation and applause, he slowly loses his own identity. He forgets his real self. Corruption takes over his entire system, alienating him from all loved ones, including his wife Sneha (Vidya Balan).

The Turnaround

A shocking incident at a party changes everything, shattering Sameer Khan's complacent world. He’s caught between his conscience on one side and his stardom and fame on the other.

The Awakening

Whether the conflict within him gives way to good sense and whether he is able to discard his corrupted image and emerge as a true-life hero, becomes an integral part of this true-life cinema.

Anurag Kashyap and Karan Johar Patch up. Kashyap to write Karan Johar's next film .

Bollywood director Anurag Kashyap is finally writing Karan Johar 's next film after their recent patch-up, but he says that the movie will be his kind of cinema.

Kashyap, who reportedly had refused to write a film by Johar stating creative differences, recently reconciled with the filmmaker by apologising.

"Whatever I said was in the heat of the moment. I realised my mistakes and personally apologised to Karan. The incident is past now," says Kashyap, who has been offered to write the script of Johar's next movie.

However, when asked about differences between Johar and him over the style of filmmaking, he says, "Yes, I am writing the script of Karan's next movie. But it is going to be my kind of movie."

The director of critically acclaimed Black Friday , who otherwise is known for making dark and serious films, feels that movies should be honest and thought provoking.

"I have no problem with films that have a happy ending. But cinema should provoke us to stand up and question things," said Kashyap.

Chak De India had a very bold script and was an honest film, he added.

Kashyap's first animation movie Hanuman Returns hit the screens recently. The film will break all the box-office records, he claims adding that he plans to work on another animation movie.

It was amusing to see Anurag Kashyap defending a bad film like "No Smoking" on pfc. It was not a good film.Period . The problem between the two existed for a long time and anurag Kashyap's comments about karan's films (when he was defending No Smoking) further worsened the plot.

This will film which will be a product of Karan and Kashyap collaboration will either will be a very good film or pathetic film . For staters , they might have a fisticuffs on the name itself , given Johar's fixation with letter 'K'. Here is a suggestion . Name the film "Karan Kashyap ki Kahani" .Explosive stuff .

Finally Shilpa shetty admits - "I am dating somebody"

It seems that Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty knew what she did last summer in Britain and she has finally admitted her relationship with 32-year-old London born Indian millionaire Raj Kundra.

"I am dating somebody. I have known him for some time but I have only just started to know him better. I hope he will be the one but I don't want to say too much because it is still very early on in our relationship," she said.

Though she has not named her new love, the daily claimed that it's none other than the London-born entrepreneur of Indian origin whose former wife had blamed Shetty for wrecking their marriage.

"I'm not going to deny that it's him but please don't say it is because I don't want to frighten him off," she said. "He respects and understands what I do and it is nice to be cared for. I have been very lonely for a very long time and it is nice to know I have somebody to look forward to seeing at the end of the day. At last I feel normal.

"It has been an incredible year for me but I have also been very lonely. I have been away from home, in a foreign country and I haven't had a boyfriend for a very long time. I need someone to woo me. Magazines are always saying I am beautiful and millions of men want to woo me, but none has come forward because they are all so scared.

"I can go to a party and sense that men really like me but they are in awe of me and won't come and ask me for a date. Being an Indian actress is bad enough but now I'm a celebrity in the UK it's too much. It would take a really secure man to handle the media attention.

"I'm eulogised by a lot of men, but they wouldn't take me home to meet their mothers," she said.

Priyanka Chopra floors Madhur Bhandarkar

Is Madhur Bhandarkar's 'Fashion' going to do for Priyanka Chopra what his 'Chandni Bar' did for Tabu and 'Satta' did for Raveena Tandon?

The vibes between the film's director and Priyanka who comes straight from the actioner 'Drona' to the delicate intricacies of the beau monde in 'Fashion' has to be believed to be seen.

'She's amazingly focussed and intelligent. I've just worked for a few days with her. But Priyanka will be very special in 'Fashion',' Bhandarkar says.

The film's other leading lady Kangana Ranaut is yet to start shooting. 'But I've written some powerful confrontation scenes between the two actresses. They will be fabulous together, I know it,' says Bhandarkar.

Bhandarkar hopes to wrap up the shooting by June. He denies rumours that the film is heading for the Paris Fashion Week.

'We could shoot the fashion week in New York, Milan or Paris. And these scenes don't have to be integral to the plot. They could just be part of the credit titles for all we know.'

'See, 'Fashion' is my most glamorous film to date, I don't deny that,' admits Bhandarkar. 'But to me getting to the emotional core of my characters is very important. Fashion won't be a superficial glossy film. Like all my films it will have a very strong emotional core.'

"Drona" directed by goldie Behl and produced by Shrihti Behl is an ambitious film and it tries to portray Abhishek Bachchan as a Superhero with special powers . Abhishek is trying to do A hritik here . After Krishh , Hritik has become one of the "big" names in bollywood if not "the" name . And really tussle is between hritik roshan and abhishek Bachchan for the top slot in future . Abhishek Bachchan is dead serious about this . So much so that , not being satisfied with the climax of "Drona" , he has asked for a 40 - day reshoot of the climax .He is leaving no stone unturned .
Let us ait and watch .

Eka Peksh Ek Dance Masti - Episode 2

I heard the Title song for EPE for the first time . Nice number. Sachin good as ever.
The initial impression always tells you what is going to happen in the future(well , most of the times) . As expected , Pillai and Shradhha Palkar are eliminated , while sukanya , Dipak Joshi and kritika gharat are in the second round . Of the lot sukanya seems to be ahead , talent wise and performance wise .She is pretty and that helps .


But hats off to Dipak joshi.He is fat . He is bald .He is short . He is not a trained dancer .Yet he gets on to the stage and dances extremely well .I was not much impressed by his first dance but second one was good . He has attitude and carries it well . I think Kritika Gharat was lucky that Nikilesh Pillai chose a bad song to perform onto .Some songs appear to be fast numbers but are not necessarily good dance numbers .Dard-E-isco is one of them . Otherwise he is a good dancer .It really felt bad to see him crying on the stage .Hope he does well . I was surprised to see Charusheela Sable on the jury .

Technically , one of the soundest singers in all the music talent shows.But i fear she might just loose out .We all know what happened to Abhaas in VOI. She can sing hindi songs with the same brilliance and ease as she does marathi songs .I just hope people vote foe her. She is a WWF fan !!!! wtf !!!!

Sayali Panse

This 24 year old from Pune is a "Visharad , M.A.(Music)" . Without doubt , the most melodious singer of all the contestants . She too is a good singer with good range and voice quality .But she does not seem to sing well on the higher notes . This was quite evident when she was singing "Ashwini yeeeee naaaa" with Prasad Oak , who is an amateur singer. Again she sings hindi songs beautifully .

Aniruddha Joshi

This 22 year old from pune is also a M.A. (Music vocal) . The weakest of 3 candidates. Excellent classical singer . But cannot sing non-classical at all . It wass really pain in ears to listen to him singing non-classical.He can sing "natyaSangeet " pretty good . He has been ousted twice . How does he keep coming back ? The way he sings hindi sings is awful, just so awful . I hope he does not win this contest , because if he does it will be a great injustice to the other two females . They are really much ahead of him .

Eka Peksha Ek - Dance Masti gets underway

The new dance talent hunt show got underway on Zee Marathi . The show will see competition between 25 contestants chosen from all corners of Maharashtra . This ambitious Marathi show will be hosted by "Home minister" Adesh Bandekar . The Mahaguru will be famous actor , director , producer , script writer , winner of Nach Baliye - 1 , Sachin Pilgaonkar . Apart from Mahaguru there is a jury comprising of people from different walks of life .The job of the jury is to give marks to the contestant .The jury does not make any comment on the performance , just gives marks .The Mahaguru , evaluates the performance , comments on the good and the bad of the performance and gives marks to the contestant .Then avaerage of jury and mahaguru marks will be the final score of the contestant .Each contestant is allotted a choreographer under whom he/she trains . Episode -1

The first part was ok . The best of the lot was the dombivali girl Sukanya Kalney(?) and was correctly given maximum marks by jury and Sachin .
But Sachin was too lenient with nikilesh(?) pillay and kritika Gharat . They did not deserve 8 and 10 . Pillay got away because inspite of being a non-maharashtrian(malyalee) he performed decently on a marathi song .It is good to see that .
adesh bandekar has a funny bone somewher in his fat body .Nice .But he should not overdo it .
But the biggest winner here is the set .The set of this show is the best I have seen in all the talent and reality shows in marathi and hindi . The stage to perform is spacious and well-laid out .
The production standards seem to be high .

this show has not generated huge hype , but it has quietly got away to a firm start

Jodha Akbar in trouble once again . It is delayed yet again

Jodha-Akbar , starring Hritik and Aishwarya is in trouble once again .the release date of the film has been delayed to february 15 .Earlier it was supposed to hit the cinemas on january 15'th . But gowarikar has not finishe cutting up the film .There are many scenes involving hritik-ash and the talented director is not able to make up his mind about the ones which are to be deleted and the ones which are to be retained , without hurting the film . the film is already three hours long and gowarikar is wary about not increasing the length of the film . To make the matters worse , he has been sufering from back ache and has been advised rest . Gowarikar has been trying to wrap up the project for a long time and went to the extent of making aishwarya dub in the local studio at Hyderabad where she was shooting for another film.
Ealier Hritik-ash dates clashed and the film was delayed.
There were controversies with BIG music regarding music release . So UTV has decided to launch its own music label with Jodha-Akbar.
this has forced Hritik Roshan to come down to India and help in wrapping up this mega-project and help in post production .
Looks as id the project is jinxed . Hope it is a super duper hit.
